Protector and ClingPod Cleaning Instructions

HardGuard® damage protectors have been engineered specifically for your application and
made of the finest materials available. To ensure effective protection, please clean and
maintain them as follows:

Outer Skin (blue, yellow, red, black, etc.):

Material: Rigid polyethylene. This material is inert to almost any solvent or
cleaning solution that could be found within your plant.
When to clean: Clean every 3 to 6 months depending upon plant conditions or when
the surface becomes overly dirty or contaminated with a substance
(grease, oil, adhesive) that might be transferred from an operator to
the finish.
Clean with: A light solution (10:1) of plant approved soap and fresh water. The
soap used must not leave a residue and must not damage the finish.
Grease may be removed with a grease cutting cleaner.
How to clean: Use a soft brush or sponge. Do not scrub the labels or they may
come up at the edges and require replacement.

Inner Skin (white foam):

Material: The inner surface is closed cell, cross-linked, low-density polyethylene
foam that will not absorb fluids and is inert to almost any solvent
or cleaning solution in your plant.
How to clean: Use a sponge only - DO NOT USE A BRUSH. Stiff bristles may
abrade and damage the surface of the foam in the case of foam-backed
material.

Cleaning ClingPods®:

Material: ClingPods are made from proprietary HardGuard® compounds designed
to not damage the surface finish of your product. Aromatic
solvents may attack the material. Pods must not be cleaned or subjected
to contact with anything but the recommended cleaning
agents or damage may result.
When to clean: When they begin to lose their grip or when their surface becomes
dirty or has suffered contamination with a substance that might be
transferred to a vehicle during assembly (oil or grease). We recommend
cleaning every 1 to 3 months depending upon conditions in the
plant.
Clean with: A light solution (10:1) of plant approved soap and clean water. The
soap used must not leave a residue and must not damage the finish
applied in your paint shop. Never clean with a solvent, alcohol,
aromatic hydrocarbon or ammonia containing cleaner.
How to clean: Use a soft sponge or clean lint free towel. Allow drying before use.
If the gripping surface is scarred or damaged, the pod may not hold
vacuum and will need to be replaced. To prevent damage to your
paint, use only HardGuard® replacement pods.
